I have highlighted in Red what makes the baseplate an 'E' base in the White Book. The Two large circles were for the 'Giftware' mounting posts, the small circle between the front rivet and the front mounting post circle is always protuding and for what purpose it is there has not been established. The Red line is actually a cut out at the very edge of this front section and again there is no obvious use for it.

The unrecorded base does not have the small circle next to the rivet or the edge cut out, and this base will need to be added to any White Book update. I have seen examples on ebay and have Two examples myself so it is a genuine variation and has been found in the 'E1' box.

Shown below is a very late issue 'Giftware' model in 'Gold'. It shows you the Two mounting posts and the smaller circle next to the front rivet.
