Morestone Miniatures or "Esso Petrol Pump" series 13-16

Number 13 was the Austin Taxi which was a 3 door design, Instead of having a front passenger seat it had a platform to carry suitcases. The body was painted black with silver trim to the grille, headlights, bumpers, roof lamp and taximeter, The silver painted baseplate included the driver as part of the casting and it had the model description embossed underneath.

The wheels were die cast metal fitted on axles with crimped ends. It was made from 1957-64

Number 14 was the Packard Convertible which was the first American vehicle and the first to use plastic in it's constuction. The body was painted beige or metallic blue, The grille and bumpers were trimmed with silver, It had a brown driver and an amber plastic windscreen, The baseplate was red and it included the interior as part of the casting.

The wheels were die cast metal mounted on crimped axles and later replaced by black plastic wheels on rounded axles. It was made from 1957-70

Number 15 the Austin Countryman was a very popular model, It is usually painted orange but can be found in blue or metallic mauve, It had a silver painted baseplate with the model details embossed which included the bumpers as part of the casting. It had silver trim to the headlights, grille and rear number plate and some models also had silver trim to the side flashes.

The wheels were grey metal but later grey and black plastic wheels were used. It is very common and was made from 1957-70

Number 16 was the Austin Healey which was a one piece body casting with a seperate baseplate, It was painted red with silver trim to the grille, headlights and bumpers. The baseplate was painted white and it included the seats and driver as part of the casting, In the photos note that the windscreen frame is not broken, It was made like this.

The wheels were grey metal mounted on axles with crimped ends. A lovely model that was made from 1957-64
